Search "bathhouse Tampa" and you get a mixed page: a Korean spa, several sauna and cold plunge studios, a private club still in the works, and a few adults-only venues. This guide sticks to the first group, places built around heat, cold water, and time spent with other people.
Tampa does not yet have a large European-style thermal bathhouse with multiple pools. What it does have is a growing set of smaller venues that capture parts of that experience. Details below come from each venue's own website, checked in September 2026. Hours and prices change often, so confirm before you drive over.
Bathhouse, recovery studio, or day spa?
The three terms overlap, and venues use them loosely.
- Bathhouse. Built around water and heat as a place to spend time. Expect hot tubs, cold tubs, steam, and sauna, and often scrubs, food, and lounge areas. You pay once and stay a while.
- Recovery studio. Sells timed sessions on specific equipment: cold plunge, infrared sauna, red light, compression. Sessions are often private and booked in 30 to 60 minute slots.
- Day spa. Built around treatments from staff, such as massage and facials. Heat and water, if present, are extras.
A newer format sits between the first two: the social sauna studio. You book a 60 minute group session, move between a sauna and cold plunges with other people, and often follow a guide. That format is where most of Tampa's growth has been.

Tampa
Shangri-La Bath & Sauna, East Tampa
The closest thing Tampa has to a traditional bathhouse. Shangri-La, at 5636 East Hillsborough Avenue, describes itself as a Korean-inspired bath house with hot tubs, cold tubs, body scrubs, and massage, plus a restaurant and karaoke. It suits people who want to spend a few hours rather than book a 30 minute slot. Its website lists a $35 bath house day fee ($30 under 12, $28 over 75), good for one entry with no reentry. For the scrub menu and house etiquette, see our guide to the Korean spa in Tampa. If you are deciding between the rooms, steam room vs sauna and sauna vs hot tub explain how each kind of heat differs.
The Sauna Guys, Ybor City
A sauna and cold plunge studio in Ybor City built around 60 minute sessions, either guided classes or open sessions at your own pace. Its pricing page lists a single session at $40, packs of 4 for $150 and 8 for $280, and a two week unlimited intro offer at $89, with no annual contracts. Good for a first social sauna experience.
Embers + Ice, near downtown
At 802 North 12th Street, Embers + Ice pairs a Nordic sauna with cold therapy and guided breathwork, and it frames the experience around community. Hours are split into morning and evening blocks on weekdays. Session pricing sits behind its booking system.
Heim Regenerative Medicine Center, South Tampa
A medical practice on Henderson Boulevard that also runs sauna and cold plunge classes in custom 16-person cedar barrel saunas. The group size and class format give it a social feel, even though the rest of the business is a clinic.
Studios with contrast rooms
If you want heat and cold without the group setting, several Tampa recovery studios offer both. Pause Studio Midtown includes cold plunge and infrared sauna in its credit membership. Florida Float Spa Tampa lists a 60 minute contrast therapy session at $69. Both are covered in the best cold plunge and sauna options in Tampa.
Oldsmar and the west side
Revivery, Tampa Road
Revivery runs instructor-led sauna and cold plunge sessions in a social setting at 4022 Tampa Road in Oldsmar. The guided format alternates 12 to 15 minutes in the sauna with 2 to 3 minutes in the cold plunge, three times. Its Open Flow option offers 60 minute self-directed sessions for people who would rather skip the coaching.
St. Petersburg
St. Pete has more bathhouse-style options than Tampa right now, and it's a reasonable drive for a weekend visit.
Nordic Spa Klub
Founded by people who moved from Denmark, Nordic Spa Klub at 502 28th Street South aims for a Scandinavian social sauna culture. Entry includes cold plunges, Nordic and infrared saunas, red light, and a locker room with showers, and no appointment is required. Its pricing page lists a $35 first-time pass, a $50 single entry, a $125 two week membership, and $250 per month month to month.
Plunsana
Plunsana, at 2300 26th Street North, calls itself St. Pete's only indoor-outdoor sauna and cold plunge studio. It lists its sauna at 185 to 195°F and its cold plunges at 39 to 51°F, along with breathwork and red light. Drop-ins are $40, and unlimited memberships are $190 per month.
Balance House Studio
A smaller studio at 2156 Central Avenue with a traditional sauna it lists at 175 to 195°F, a cold plunge, red light, and a coffee bar. Its site shows bookings at $35 and $45.
Coming soon: a private bath house
Bath & Racquet House is a planned private club in South Tampa that pairs padel and pickleball with a hydrotherapy bath house, a longevity clinic, and dining. Membership is by invitation and inquiry. Its site lists one-time initiation fees from $30,000 to $99,000 and monthly dues of $495 to $895, with dues beginning when the club opens.
How to get the most out of a first visit
- Pick the format first. Want quiet? A private suite or a Korean-style bath will suit you better than a guided group class. Want company and structure? Book a social session.
- Ask about temperatures. Cold plunges in the area range widely, from the 50s°F to around 39°F at Plunsana. If you're new, cold plunge temperature covers what to start with.
- Go easy on round one. Short sauna rounds and short plunges. You can always add a round.
- Hydrate and skip alcohol before you go. Heat and alcohol are a poor mix.
- Know the house rules. Swimsuits, towel service, phones, and talking vary by venue.
